Job Description As an Accountant/Bookkeeper, your primary responsibility is to maintain accurate financial records for the organization.
You will be responsible for recording financial transactions, updating statements, and verifying financial data.
The role requires meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software, and a strong understanding of financial principles.
What does the role entail?
Perform full debtors function only.
Create and manage the GL and ensure all records are posted accordingly. Assist in maintaining an accurate asset register.
Assist in the preparation of management accounts as required.
Ensure that payments are timeously made.
Monitor all financial transactions.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and attend to reconciling items.
Preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Prepare daily and monthly cashflow projections.
Preparing and posting monthly journals and closing off month end reporting deadlines ensuring that all provisions/accruals / adjusted are completed.
Preparation and assistance with External Audit.
Completion and submission of statutory returns by the due date (VAT & PAYE & other returns).
Ensure transaction accuracy and documentational support.
Undertake adhoc scrutiny / analysis of financial data and / or prepare adhoc financial reports.
Assist Financial Manager in maintaining the implementation of internal controls and improving process efficiencies.
Classify, code, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records.
Prepare, maintain, audit, and distribute statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports and tables tasks are completed on time and that they meet appropriate quality standards.
Managing projects and policies ensures that the P&L is accurate costs are properly matched to revenue, costs are recorded in the proper accounts) and statements are delivered to appropriate individuals in a timely manner.
Ensure tax rates used for sales/use tax are current and that the correct amounts are collected and/or accrued.
Ensure compliance with standard and local operating procedures Qualifications Qualification in Accounting/Finance (Degree preferred) A passion for all things FinTech Proficiency in accounting software - Quick Books is ESSENTIAL Minimum 3 years' experience in a related position Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles Strong Analytical skills A positive and enthusiastic attitude Computer literate (Microsoft proficient) with advance Excel Ability to multitask and prioritize.
