Requirements:Based in Cape TownGrade 12 / National Senior CertificateQualified Boilermaker Trade Test CertificateMinimum of 1 -2 years' post trade experience.A valid driver's license with own reliable transportResponsibilities: Fabrication-Planning: Check that all parts comply with procurement register and data pack (Report any deviations). Check that all tools and equipment is available to execute task. Plan a working procedure for the task. Material cutting. Proper use of bandsaw, cut-off saw, cutting torch, grinder, etc.Welding – Mig, Tig and ArcDrilling and/or sloting holes. Proper use of hand drill, magbase drill, machining machine, etc.Finishing/Grinding -Remove all shape edgers, burs, welding spatter, etc.(Prep for next phase)Machining and Fitting - Planning: Check that all part comply with procurement register and data pack.(Report any deviations). Check that all tools and equipment is available to execute task. Plan a working procedure for the task. Complete MJR's for parts require heat treatment or any process that can't be done inhouse.Machining: Use appropriate machinery to execute tasks for e.g. Proper use of lathe machine for turning, facing, grooving, parting, boring, tapping, etc. Proper use of milling machine for forming flat surfaces, cutting slots, drilling or reaming holes, gear cutting, etc. Proper use of surface grinding machine for surface finishing, remove material for small tolerances, etc. On completion of parts ensure that all shape edgers and burs are removed, and the part is treated for the next phase. (Lubricate and store in a dry area to avoid rust.)Fitting: Appropriate fitting method must be used to perform tasks like: Fitment and alignment of drives, brakes, clutches, gears, sprockets, bearing, etc. Fitment of motors, pumps, gearboxes, etc. Fitment of Pneumatic and hydraulic components.Installation- Planning: Check that all part complies with procurement register and data pack (Report any deviations). Check that all tools and equipment is available to execute task. Plan a working procedure for the task. Complete MJR's for parts/items required to execute. Read and understand the layout, floor plans, routing and inspect site.Installation- The installations of machinery and/or external components. The installations of water systems. The installation of pneumatic and hydraulic systems. The installation of platforms and strictures.Testing and commissioning- Test the operation/functioning of the machine, component, system, structure, etc. installed. Test the safety of the operation/function. Identify and address snags.
