My client in the meat industry is recruiting for an experienced and highly motivated Blockman with extensive knowledge and experience in specialized cuts and splitting up carcasses.
Candidates who meet the below minimum requirements are invited to submit their application via the link provided.Minimum requirements:Proficient in Afrikaans and EnglishMinimum 5 years experience in a similar roleMust have a valid driver's license and reliable transportMust be able to lift heavy things, like animal carcassesSkills required:Must be able to split up animal carcassesMust be literateMust be able to perform specialized cutsMust be able to perform stock takesDuties will include:Skillfully cut and portion different types of meat according to customer specifications and ordersEnsure all cuts meet quality standards in terms of freshness, appearance, and weightImplement proper hygiene and sanitation practices to maintain cleanliness and safetyOperate and maintain butchery equipment such as knives, saws, grinders, and slicersAssist customers in selecting meat products and provide information on cuts, preparation methods, and cooking techniquesAddress customer queries and concerns professionally and courteously (in person or via telephone)Monitor meat inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to maintain stockAdapt to fluctuating demands and workload in a fast-paced environmentRemuneration:Basic Salary: R8000 - R12000, depending on knowledge and experienceBonus: There is a possibility for a bonus, depending on the turnover of the companyWorking hours: Monday to Friday: 07:00 - 16:00 Saturdays: 07:00 - 14:00 (if required)IMPORTANT:Applications close 15 August 2024Only applications submitted via the Ditto Jobs platform will be consideredOnly candidates who meet all our client's minimum requirements will be contacted
