Blockman / Bandsaw Operator - Meat Cutting And Processing

Key ResponsibilitiesOperation and Maintenance: Safely operate, maintain, and troubleshoot bandsaws, ensuring optimal performance.Cutting and Shaping: Accurately cut and shape beef bones according to specifications, and work orders.Quality Control: Inspect cut materials for defects, ensuring adherence to quality standards.Material Handling: Load, unload and transport materials, using appropriate equipment.Safety Protocols: Follow safety guidelines, wear personal protective equipment (PPE), and report hazards.Measurement and Calibration: Measure and calibrate materials, ensuring precise cuts.Record Keeping: Maintain accurate production records and report production metrics.Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, clean and lubricate bandsaws.RequirementsExperience: 1-2 years of bandsaw operation experience.Training: Completion of the bandsaw operation training program would be an advantagePhysical Demands: Ability to lift 50 lbs, and stand for extended periods.Technical Skills: Understanding of measurement tools, blueprints and cutting techniques.Safety Certifications: OSHA, safety training certifications.Communication: Effective communication and teamwork skills.Preferred QualificationsCertifications: Bandsaw operation certification, CNC experience.Experience with: Metal, wood or plastic cutting.Knowledge of: Lean manufacturing, quality control principles.Mechanical aptitude: Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.Working ConditionsEnvironment: Manufacturing/industrial setting.Physical Hazards: Noise, dust, heavy machinery.Safety Equipment: PPE, safety glasses, gloves.Shifts: Flexible shifts, standard 6-6 and 7 days a week operation
