Blending Room Operator

Location: Nasrec, GautengJob Description:First point of production, plays a key role in maintaining the quality of the product.
Ensures consistency on all products by accurately weighing and blending ingredients as required by the packing plant,Maintains schedule by getting the ingredients prepared efficiently and on time in order to maintain production flow.Requirements: Please note this is a fixed term contractDegree/Diploma in Food Technology/Biotech/Food and Nutrition/Analytical Chemistry2+ years of experience within FMCG/manufacturing environmentResponsibilities:Accurate preparation of ingredients for blending into the oil following established recipes and methods.Confirm all ingredients, ratios and weights are correct.Ensure that the blending process is carried out accurately according to defined proceduresEnsure minimal product defects and downtime due to blending operationsTake blended oil samples to lab for testing.Clean blending and material systems for product changes and shutdowns.Keep blending room and blending tanks area cleanCommunicate any important information to the Production Manager, Supervisors and the QA Analyst.Is consistently on time and at workRequired to work overtime when requested to do so.
Overtime may be required when needed to finish a production run, to cover for other employees absent from work, meet customer expectations, etc.Keep and maintain ingredient blending recordsMaintaining traceability by tracking batch numbersFollows Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.Immediately reports any problems with the equipment, ingredients and oil to the Production Manager, Production Supervisor and QA Analysts.Watches for contamination in the product along any point of production.Participates in weekly plant GMP AuditsOther duties as assigned.
