1 month ago Be among the first 25 applicants Description We seek a dynamic and proactive senior bi analyst/developer to join the team. This person must be passionate about data, information and assist in presenting it to best support business processes and decisions. This role requires excellent client-facing communication skills; the primary purpose is to work with analytical teams and technical & business teams to implement the analysis & insights produced by the business. This role requires strong bi skills (SQL) together with analytical exposure, report generation and understanding systems & source data. Key accountabilities of the role: Be the translator between the business and it Understand the report to be written; what it represents and how the business uses it Write technical specifications where required Ability to translate business requirements into system solutions Ability to analyse the "as is" business architectures, to identify any issues, opportunities Participating in design and planning sessions Testing and deployment of new development Requirements Key experience required for the role: Completed a tertiary qualification in an information systems or analysis related field. At least 5 years' BI experience in a technology solution delivery environment (retail experience advantageous) Job related skills required for the role: Solid bi skills (sql server), business analysis, planning or data modelling Experience with ms sql or other analytical insight software combined with a good understanding of sql or relationship databases SSIS – sequel server integration services – required to build etl's (extract, transform and load data) SSAS – sequel server analysis services – required to build olap (online analytical processing) cubes – specifically tabular SSRS – sequel server reporting services – to build SQL reports SQL Powerbi experience and developer training would be advantageous Experience in requirements, analysis, design and reporting Good practical experience in bi and able to perform business analysis too Experience in other it roles (e.g. Software development) would be very advantageous Demonstrated experience working with microsoft business intelligence suite building data warehousing solutions Good presentation, facilitation and excellent documentation skills Strong attention to detail Strong communication skills Excellent relationship building skills Strong team player Ability to work under high pressure Run multiple projects simultaneously Ability to adapt to change easily Be solutions orientated Constantly thinking of the bigger picture and how to simplify and streamline interdepartmental processes and relationships (process improvement) Can hit the ground running and deliver successful results Passionate about quality and customer service and exceeding expectations The ability to apply analytical thought, skills and tools to business challenges Seniority levelSeniority level Mid-Senior level Employment typeEmployment type Full-time Job functionJob function Research, Analyst, and Information Technology Industries Retail Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Unique Personnel by 2xGet notified about new Business Intelligence Analyst jobs in Western Cape, South Africa.
