Role Overview: A Behavioral Detection Officer responsible for observing and identifying suspicious behavior in individuals, particularly in high-traffic or secure areas, to ensure the safety of people and property.
This position is focused on security surveillance and behavior assessment.
The role involves monitoring individuals and identifying potential risks based on non-verbal cues such as body language.
Key Responsibilities: Behavioral Surveillance: Monitor individuals in assigned areas to detect suspicious behavior or unusual actions. Observe non-verbal cues, including body language and facial expressions, to identify potential threats or security breaches. Alarm and Camera Monitoring: Assist in monitoring CCTV cameras and alarm systems for any unusual activity. Respond to any alerts or suspicious movements picked up by the security systems. Incident Reporting: Report suspicious behaviors or activities to senior security personnel for further action. Maintain logs of daily observations and activities, ensuring that all incidents are accurately documented. Collaborate with Security Team: Communicate findings with fellow security staff to ensure a coordinated approach to any potential threats. Provide input based on observations to help the team improve overall security measures. Qualifications and Requirements: Education and Certifications: Grade 12 / Matric (essential). PSIRA Grade C Certification (essential). Experience: Call Centre Experience (beneficial but not essential). Technical Background in Alarm Systems and Cameras (beneficial but not essential). Advanced Surveillance and Body Language Skills (beneficial but not essential). Key Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to focus for long periods. Basic understanding of security systems, including cameras and alarm systems. Ability to remain calm and observant in high-pressure situations. Clear communication skills for reporting incidents.
