Back-End Developer - Platform Systems

What You'll be Doing

Integrate into the team quickly, deploy often and early
Manage, launch existing and new applications
Resolve bugs, provide a high level of support to end users and integrated system stakeholders
Write short specs, own end-to-end development from scoping to testing
Write unit tests for the new code that you craft, improve test coverage, follow development standards
Ensure your code is designed with maintainability in mind
Work with other software teams to improve system communications and performance
Participate in design and regular code reviews; helping your colleagues do their best
Explore and review new technologies, for improvement opportunities

Desired Skills and Experience

3+ years of Python experience; Django is a plus.
We also write Go, but that's not expected of you.
Comfort navigating the command line, especially with git
Strong and demonstrated data modelling experience with attention to detail
SQL familiarity; you can hand code moderately complex SQL queries, but only when needed
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
Ability to write documentation clearly and concisely, and to communicate well with non-technical stakeholders
Experience crafting or working closely with Web/REST/GraphQL APIs
Understanding of common application stacks (nginx, uwsgi, etc.)
Knowledge of web standards; excitement about new technologies
