Automation Technician

STARK Resources is a specialised, privately held engineering group that focuses on fast-tracked design and construction of minerals processing plants.
Job Purpose This is a full-time role for an Automation Technician at STARK Resources located in Centurion.
You will be responsible for assembling, evaluating, and testing the functionality of electrical switchboards and MCC's for mineral processing operations - a crucial role in our plant-building team.
The role involves working on various aspects of automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, VSDs, and other field instruments.
Position Requirements At least 3 years experience working with automation technologies in the mining industry Completion of an electrical or instrumentation apprenticeship An electrical degree or diploma will be an advantage Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical specifications Hands-on experience in assembling, testing, and commissioning electrical systems.
Proficiency in programming PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems (e.g., Siemens) Knowledge of field instrumentation installation, calibration, and integration with control systems Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for automation-related issues Why join our team at STARK Resources?
