The Automation Systems Engineer is responsible for overseeing the automation systems within the Paint Shop, managing both IT and OT considerations during project implementation and operations.
This includes system optimization, maintenance, and failure analysis, along with introducing future technologies.Key Responsibilities:Manage and optimize IT and OT automation systems, ensuring operational efficiency.Research and integrate new technologies aligned with company goals.Collaborate with stakeholders to implement technology solutions and drive digitalization.Analyze manufacturing trends for technology adoption to improve KPIs.Support Paint Shop maintenance during breakdowns and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.Identify obsolete equipment and propose sustainable replacements.Lead initiatives toward a fully digital factory, including benchmarking other sites.Manage software programs, including backups, updates, and security patches.Perform diagnostics, programming, and change management on automation systems.Maintain detailed records of all Paint Shop IT and OT assets per group standards.Qualification Requirements:National Diploma or Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.Experience Needed:At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.Minimum of 3 years of experience in control system technologies or maintaining shop floor IT systems. Essential Skills and Requirements:Proficiency in implementing and maintaining systems, including program and application archiving and backups.Strong hardware and OS knowledge for both desktop PCs and IPCs.Understanding of virtualized environments, network protocols, and networking devices.Familiarity with IT and OT environment interfacing.Proficient in SCADA systems, including IO servers and basic scripting.Skilled in programming and fault-finding on PLCs.Effective cross-departmental communication and reporting.Strong analytical and administrative skills.Willingness to perform after-hours standby duties.Ability to work effectively within a team.
