My Client a market leader in the end of line packaging machinery manufacturing is seeking an EXPERIENCED AUTOMATION ENGINEER, with at least 5 years experience coupled with a tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.The Automation Engineer will be responsible for- Designing automated equipment- Programming automated equipment- Testing automated equipment- Testing automated processesto meet client requirements 100%Responsibilities include- Programming- Debugging- And ModifyingPLCs, Robotics & Other control systemsThe automation engineer will also be required to be involved with- The HMI (human machine interface) application development & testing.- Onsite Installation- Commissioning of new systems- Troubleshooting existing systems remotely- Troubleshooting existing systems in the field- Assist in creating operating manuals- Providing training for end usersThe automation engineer must have the comprehensive ability to troubleshoot all areas, such as:- Mechanical- Electrical- Software- HMIThe automation engineer must have the comprehensive ability in- Configuration- Programming- CommissioningPLCs (Siemens S7 preferred), Variable Speed Drives & Safety DevicesThe automation engineer must have experience in Robotics- Yaskawa- KawasakiPreferredDuties & Responsibilities- The Successful candidate will be responsible for design & development on various platforms- Software development in accordance with the clients specifications- FAT, commissioning & Handover- Adherence to Health & Safety requirements- Assist the electrical department with the creation & updating of drawings for construction of physical components of electrical & automation systems- Contribute to the building of a continuous improvement environment & ongoing functional activities- Responsible for PLC, VSD, Robotic & HMI programming & Backups (including networking & integration of all industrial equipment)- Responsible for remote or on-site support on breakdowns when required- Responsible for installation, diagnostics & repair of all industrial hardware related components- Aiding in the design& functioning of new machines- Attend frequent, formal meetings with electrical / design / mechanical teams to ensure the outputs continually satisfy design goals- Responsible for planning & scheduling electrical systems upgrades / improvements & co-ordinate with electrical / design / maintenance teams.- Occasionally required to work overtime on short notice
Desired Experience & Qualifications- Must have a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or Robotics or Mechatronics or equivalent Engineering Qualification- Must have at least 5years or more experience in a similar role- Must be highly proficient in PLC programming- Must be able to work in a fast-paced multi-disciplined team environment- Must have excellent time management- Must have high levels of motivation- Must have very high attention to detail- Must be able to work under pressure & work under time constraints- Must be able to travel locally & internationally (unrestricted valid passport required)- Must have own reliable transport & valid unendorsed drivers license
