Job Purpose The successful candidate will be appointed as a rotational HOD in line with the rotational HOD guideline for a five-year term.
HOD responsibility: The candidate should be eligible to be appointed as the rotating HOD to lead and manage the department effectively and efficiently in line with the CPUT policies and procedures specifically but not limited to:
Academic leadership and project management; Research management; HR and staff management; Financial management; Student management. Teaching: The candidate should be able to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Research: The candidate should be active in research and successfully supervise undergraduate final year research projects and postgraduate students.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience Doctoral qualification: Doctor of Commerce/ Doctor of Business Administration/ Doctor of Sport Management or equivalent doctoral qualification. Underpinning Masters qualification in one or more of the sub-fields of Sport Management. At least six (6) years' relevant teaching experience in Higher Education. Already at Senior Lecturer level with at least three (3) years' proven academic managerial experience. Track record in academic leadership, research output, and postgraduate supervision. Minimum Requirements: Senior Lecturer Doctoral qualification: Doctor of Commerce/ Doctor of Business Administration/ Doctor of Sport Management or equivalent Doctoral qualification. Underpinning Masters qualification in one or more of the sub-fields of Sport Management. At least four (4) years' relevant teaching experience in Higher Education. Experience in curriculum development. Track record in academic leadership, research output, and postgraduate supervision. Minimum Requirements: Head of Department Doctoral qualification: Doctor of Commerce/ Doctor of Business Administration/ Doctor of Sport Management or equivalent Doctoral qualification. Underpinning Masters qualification in one or more of the sub-fields of Sport Management. At least 5 years' teaching experience in a higher education, with at least three (3) years at the Senior Lecturer level involving managerial responsibility. Track record in academic leadership, research output, and postgraduate supervision.
