COREPURPOSEOFJOB To facilitate the acquisition of knowledge and skills in pharmaceutical sciences by undergraduate pharmacy students in order for them to function effectively within the field of Pharmacy.
To conduct research, facilitate the acquisition of research knowledge and skills amongst undergraduate and postgraduate students.
To contribute to community engagement and to be involved in the core functions of the University.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Teaching, assessment and development of undergraduate BPharm courses.Supervision of undergraduate research topics.To conduct, publish and promote research in PharmacyLiaison with the Departments pharmaceutical industry partners and other stakeholders.Facilitation and co-ordination of pharmaceutical sciences work integrated activities.Involvement in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmesInvolvement in community engagement programmesPerform other administrative duties as designated by the Head of the Discipline/Department.CORECOMPETENCIES An in-depth knowledge in the theory of pharmaceutical sciences.Experience in facilitating undergraduate learning and teaching and in the development of curricula and learning material in pharmaceutical sciences.Initiation and management of research projects in pharmaceutical sciencesPotential to contribute to pharmacy profession/stakeholder liaison and networking.Good computer skills.Knowledge and implementation of, or an ability for, facilitation using blended learning methods.Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Registration Registration as a pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
Experience One years experience lecturing undergraduate pharmacy students in pharmaceutical sciences
