Associate Finance Director

A private equity-backed multinational business advisory and accountancy firm, based in Cape Town is seeking an Associate Finance Director to lead their finance functions related to commercial and operational activities.This role focuses on shaping financial strategy, driving operational improvements, and supporting company growth. Reporting to the Finance Director and working with senior management, the Associate Finance Director ensures financial goals align with business objectives.Key Responsibilities:Partner with Managing Partners to lead the operational finance strategy.Centralise finance functions and implement policies to enhance performance.Mentor a finance team and contribute to revenue optimisation and long-term financial health.Key Qualifications and Experience:CA(SA) or full CIMA accreditation (essential).A minimum of 10 years of relevant finance experience.5 years in a senior management role within a commercial finance function.Proven expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and business analysis.Advanced proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and Excel.Experience in deal-making, negotiation, and financial structuring.Shared Services experience (advantageous).Key Duties:Drive the financial strategy to align with the company's goals and operational needs.Optimise and streamline the operating model across companies and the group.Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.Oversee the centralisation of finance functions and Shared Service resources.Implement and improve commercial finance policies and operational processes.Collaborate with FP&A to prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term plans.Streamline monthly and annual financial reporting across hubs and regional offices.Optimise revenue and profit margins through improved financial policies, systems, and cost-saving measures.Support legal entity reduction and manage mergers and acquisitions processes.Ensure compliance with statutory laws, IFRS regulations, and maintain effective risk management.Establish and maintain strong internal controls to protect the company's assets and mitigate risks.Key Personal Skills:Strong leadership and team management skills.Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse and solve complex financial issues.Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.Results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement.If you are passionate about driving financial strategy and supporting business growth, please get in touch to learn more about this exciting opportunity.About the Job:Contract Type: FULL_TIMESpecialism: Accountancy & FinanceFocus: Finance DirectorWorkplace Type: HybridLocation: Cape TownIndustry: Financial ServicesSalary: NegotiableJob Reference: R1NKFS-9EECE8CFDate posted: 08 October 2024Consultant: Ashleigh Cloete
