Job Description As an Associate Stormwater Engineer in our Water Resources team, you will provide technical and specialist analysis and design support in the area of stormwater drainage, hydrology and flood management for a wide range of infrastructure projects including road, rail and urban development in Africa and around the world.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake: Hydrological analysis of storm rainfall Hydrological and hydraulic analysis of catchment runoff and watercourses Hydraulic modelling and design of stormwater reticulation systems, culverts, erosion protection and other flood control structures Sustainable urban drainage system design Preparation of project specifications, bill of quantities and tender documentation Stormwater master planning and flood risk assessments Mentoring less experienced staff Work directly with clients to define project objectives, address technical queries, present solutions, and support business development activities Minimum requirements 12 to 18 years experience in a similar role - essential Experience in the use of drainage analysis and associated design software technology applications (e.g.
HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, PCSWMM, 12D, Autocad, Civil 3D, GIS, etc.)
- highly advantageous Experience in hydrological studies, hydraulic analysis and design of stormwater drainage infrastructure such as culverts and bridges – highly advantageous Experience in the design of stormwater reticulation systems, culverts, erosion protection, flood control structures, runoff treatment and management devices – advantageous Knowledge of detailed road drainage design and experience coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams - advantageous Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Qualifications Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent Masters degree or equivalent, would be an advantage PrEng registration Additional Information About AECOM AECOM is the world's trusted infrastructure consulting firm, delivering professional services throughout the project lifecycle – from advisory, planning, design and engineering to program and construction management.
