The Rotman School is an internationally recognized centre of management research and education offering an innovative curriculum that integrates fundamental management insights and skills with transformational experiential learning. The School offers nine graduate programs focused on developing business and thought leaders equipped with the knowledge, and insights to change the world as we know it.
Under the general direction of the Director, Graduate Programs Recruitment, and working closely with the Director, Graduate Admissions and Awards, this position plays a lead role in ensuring recruitment operations and initiatives are aligned with the strategic goals of the Graduate Programs within the highly competitive graduate business education market. This role involves managing recruitment operations, implementing efficient processes, leveraging technology, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive recruitment success.
The incumbent builds and leads a high functioning team of recruitment staff and works with Rotman colleagues to coordinate graduate business program recruitment activities locally, nationally and internationally. Leveraging key concepts of strategic enrolment management, the incumbent manages all operational aspects of attracting qualified business students to the Rotman School and works with Rotman and University stakeholders who are engaged in student recruitment to align and collaborate on Rotman initiatives. This includes training and coordination of all recruitment staff to ensure consistent and onbrand messaging about Rotman's programs, development and deployment of lead management strategies, admissions standards and policies, event management and both external and internal stakeholder relationship management. 
The incumbent will develop inclusive recruitment activity to attract talent from traditionally under-represented groups including Black, Indigenous and female leaders, and will espouse the Rotman values of diversity, inclusivity and respect within the academic community. The Associate Director will take a data-driven approach to all recruitment activity, with a focus on continual ROI assessment. The role includes direct recruitment work including participating in domestic and international recruitment activity as well as involvement with international organizations. Both domestic and international travel is required. Some weekend and evening work will be required.
I. EDUCATION:
University degree required; A master's degree in social or behavioral sciences, higher education administration, educational research, or other closely related discipline is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
II. EXPERIENCE:
At least five (5) years of recruitment experience at a post-secondary institution; a thorough and extensive knowledge of the educational system at all levels preferably in the Graduate Business School environment; A thorough understanding of EDI-related frameworks is essential; extensive experience and knowledge of EDI principles, with proven experience as an organizational leader, particularly around initiatives that promote diversity, access, and inclusion; demonstrated experience and commitment to upholding the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion. A thorough and extensive knowledge of strategic enrolment management best practices required; Business school experience highly desirable; Proficiency in recruitment management systems, CRM systems, and recruitment technology platforms; Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and build relationships; Knowledge of best practices in recruitment operations, technology integration, and process optimization; Attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and quality assurance in recruitment operations.
III. SKILLS:
Efficient and sophisticated data collection and analysis skills; Superior communication and customer services skills; Excellent reporting and presentation/public speaking skills; Proven problem-solving and facilitation skills in resolution of issues related to student enrolment and retention; Excellent. organizational skills; Highly computer literate with sound knowledge of PC platforms, internet, CRM and student information systems; Highly motivated with proven leadership and mentoring skills; Tact, diplomacy and proven professionalism relating to working collaboratively; Cross-cultural competence; Well-versed in matters of diversity, equity and access
IV. OTHER:
Ability to speak to large groups of students in a variety of local and international venues; Ability to maintain sensitivity to applicants in different cultural situations in a variety of countries; Ability to use tact and discretion when handling of belligerent or aggressive inquirers; Ability to maintain a professional manner at all times, often in trying international circumstances; Sound knowledge of ethnic demographic situation and its consequences in political terms for the University; Outstanding oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; Ability to exercise tact, understanding of personal needs and rights of enquirers, even those who are unqualified; Willingness to extend services beyond the narrow confines of an enquiry situation.
