Job Title: Associate Cost Manager - JLL Africa Location: Johannesburg, South Africa
Position Overview: JLL Africa is seeking a skilled and experienced Associate Cost Manager to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the costs and contracts of construction projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines while maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction. The position will also require strong technical skills as well as the ability to manage and lead a team of cost managers.
Key Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of cost management and quantity surveying services for construction projects.Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports.Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.Procure and manage contracts with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.Monitor project progress and costs against agreed budgets and timelines.Provide expert advice on contractual matters and dispute resolution.Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.Provide technical assistance and guidance to the entire commercial management team.Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.Registered as a Professional QS with the SACQSP.12+ years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in large-scale construction projects.Proven track record of successfully managing costs and contracts throughout the project lifecycle.Strong technical expertise as well as analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite, WinQS, and DimX.Sub-Saharan experience preferable.Data Centre and Hospitality experience preferable.Benefits: Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.Comprehensive health and wellness benefits package.Opportunities for professional development and career growth.Access to global resources and expertise within the JLL network.Collaborative and inclusive work environment.Location: On-site – Johannesburg, ZAF
