Introduction Enable the delivery of the Africa strategy by working with key internal and external stakeholders to:To Ensure regulatory compliance, and facilitate to assist with the export operations for Woolworths Food in AfricaDevelop, roll-out, maintain and improve technical standards of the local supplier base within our African markets.Collaborate with Product Developers and Technologists in key categories to expand product selection and in-country sourcing.
Compile export documents and ensure adherence to export requirements.Communicate and send weekly supplier requisitions for meat and dairy movement certificates.Coordinate weekly export inspections with State vets.Review import permits for Botswana, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia, and Mozambique; engage in permit amendments.Compile documents for NRCS restricted inspections.Update and maintain departmental records including supplier certificates and NRCS certificates, noting country of origin for SADC & non-SADC.Manage state vet and supplier audits; ensure traceability when necessary.Assist in obtaining All African countries food trade permits.Generate weekly compliance reports and technical complaint reports for Matrix team & ROG.Provide assistance to technologists and perform general administration tasks as needed by the Africa Foods team.Conduct weekly engagements with in-country food store general managers to address concerns and ensure operational efficiency for exports.Provide operational support to the Africa Team for technical related matters.Support Technologists on technical information and documentation required for export, including certificates, permits, CoA, etc. Understand and identify the technical and compliance requirements for exporting / importing food products per country and align with existing food technology processes.Assess, communicate, and provide possible solutions to mitigate risk related to Food Safety & Quality across the supply chain for all products.Minimum of 2 years relevant experienceAbility to travel to neighbouring African countries.Technical experience across categories and systems will be advantageous.Effective analytical and problem-solving abilityStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong focus on quality and attention to detailGood time management and ability to manage multiple requests/tasksPlanning and organisational abilityStrong Leadership skillsDriven entrepreneurial and merchant mind set to grow the business and supplier baseExperience of technical processes, principles and import / export legislation, preferred
