Support the implementation of health and safety policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.
Ensure adherence to company safety policies and industry regulations.
Perform regular safety inspections and assist with audits to ensure a safe working environment.
Identify potential hazards and suggest corrective actions to address safety risks.
Assist in developing and conducting emergency response drills and training.
Act as part of the emergency response team during incidents and coordinate initial actions with the Safety Manager.
Record and report safety incidents, near-misses, and injuries.
Support the investigation of incidents to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.
Help conduct safety training sessions and toolbox talks for employees.
Promote safety awareness and best practices within the organization.
Ensure proper documentation of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and safety audits.
Maintain an up-to-date record of all safety equipment and supplies.
Assist in the distribution and management of personal protective equipment (PPE) to employees.
Ensure compliance with PPE policies and monitor PPE usage among staff.
Requirements Minimum Qualification: Education: Matric- Grade 12 or equivalent Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Fire Officer, Fire Inspector, or Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Certification preferred.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in fire safety, risk management, or a similar role in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Knowledge: Familiarity with local fire and safety codes, emergency response procedures, and risk assessment practices.
