Purpose: Assisting the Resident Engineer in being responsible for ensuring that the works are constructed to specification and in terms of the Contract.
Requirements: Tertiary qualification BSc/B.TechRegistered as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng with ECSA.7 to 10 years experience on major SANRAL projects of which more than 5 years was involved with supervising and monitoring the construction of major highway structures.Competent with Civil Designer and/or Civil 3D.Construction quality control related to the construction of major highway structures.Minute taking at site and technical meetings.More than 5 years experience on the analysis of concrete mix designs.Construction supervision and management of highway structures.Construction quality control of highway structures.Facilitate meetings with the Contractor and client.Minute taking at site and technical meeting.Preparation of Reports.Good knowledge of COTO specifications.Good knowledge of FIDIC Conditions of Contract.Strong knowledge of concrete mix design and the analysis of results for approval of structures.Duties: Assist the Resident Engineer (RE) in monitoring the Contractors progress on the construction of major highway structures.Assist the RE in monitoring construction - activities the RE implemented in accordance with the specifications.Assist the RE in monitoring traffic accommodation and the design of deviations for phased construction.Assist the RE in monitoring OHS and environmental compliance.Assist the RE in monitoring the site laboratory (concrete section).Assist the RE To issue site instructions and receive contractors correspondence.Assist the RE to verify contractors measurement.Assist the RE to verify payment certificates.Assist the RE to approve acceptance control of concrete works.Assist the RE to maintain the necessary site records.Assist the RE with liaison between interested parties.Assist the RE with monthly technical meetings.Closing Date: 30 September 2024
