ELIGIBILITY:Suitably Qualified CandidatesCLOSING DATE:09.10.2024REFERENCE NUMBER:SPE 43/24 ExtSALARY:Basic: R390 093 p.aDEPARTMENT:Environmental ManagementDIRECTORATE:SPATIAL PLANNING AND ENVIRONMENTPosition:Assistant Professional Officer (Living Alongside Wildlife)Requirements:B Tech, National Diploma or first Degree (NQF 6)2 years' experience in wildlife/human conflict, policy, project environment with strong emphasis on biodiversity conservation.Good conservation ethics and report writing skills are essential.Legal experience is an added advantage.Valid code B driver's licence.Computer literate (MS Office, Microsoft Outlook & SAP).Must be physically fit.Key Performance Areas:Provide professional and technical support to the Living Alongside Wildlife programme.Project management, administration assistance, and report compilation.Proactive community liaison, engagement, and relationship management.Engage with internal City colleagues.Ensure technical aspects and reporting align to the Strategy and BioNet implementation.Provide administration and facilitate meetings and workshops.Draw up annual plans of operation and work programme.Manage projects and programmes as well as monitor projects and contracts in the field.Budgeting and correct spending of operating and capital budgets for the area and managing simple procurement processes.Oversee the management and mentoring of students and interns.Compile monthly and annual reports.How to Apply:By submitting your application for a position at the City of Cape Town, you are consenting to the use of your personal information provided as part of your application and/or Recruitment process for Recruitment and Selection purposes.
