We have a global presence and Oceana is a black-owned company and a level 1 B-BBEE contributor.Oceana Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Payroll Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all Oceana employees in South Africa and Namibia. You will supervise a team of payroll administrators, manage the overall payroll function, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.Key Responsibilities:Oversee all aspects of payroll processing, meeting deadlines across all departments.Lead and develop a team of payroll administrators.Analyze payroll procedures and recommend improvements for best practices.Maintain payroll confidentiality and security.Manage payroll communications with employees and stakeholders.Prepare regular management reports.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field.Membership with SAPA (South African Payroll Association) preferred.7-10 years of progressive experience in payroll management, with at least 4-5 years in a managerial capacity.Extensive experience with SAP Payroll and in a Shared Service environment.Strong understanding of payroll legislation, tax regulations, and benefits administration.Proven ability to lead and develop a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.Proficiency in MS Office Suite (especially Excel) and payroll software.Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:Attention to detail.Deadline driven.Strong communication and interpersonal skillsInclusive leadership and strong EQAnalytical Thinking skills to be advanced.Strong planning and executionConfident and resilientAgile and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.In support of the company's Employment Equity Plan, applicants from designated groups will be given preference for this position.
