Job Title: Assistant Occupational Health & Safety Officer Location: South Africa, Western Cape, City of Cape Town Job Type: Permanent, expected to work full-time hours Primary Industry: Travel, Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality Secondary Industry: Engineering Salary: ZAR40000 - ZAR44000 per month Benefits: Including Medical Aid, Provident Fund, assurances Required Qualifications: NQF 5 or higher qualification in Occupational Health & Safety Level 3 First Aid certification Additional certifications in relevant areas such as risk assessment or emergency response will be advantageous Required Skills: Strong understanding and demonstrated knowledge of Fire and Safety Acts, Occupational Health and Safety regulations Legislative knowledge of Fire and Safety Acts Proficiency in MS Office applications Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Job Duties: This role will report to the Senior Manager: S, H & E and Utilities , and is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for all staff.
Must ensure that all tenants fulfil their safety obligations and safeguarding public safety for all visitors.
Assist in the development and implementation of occupational health and safety policies and procedures Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards Investigate incidents and accidents, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences Provide training to employees on health and safety practises Maintain accurate records and documentation related to health and safety activities Knowledge and Skills: Strong understanding of Fire and Safety Acts, Occupational Health and Safety regulations Proficiency in MS Office applications Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
