Carbon and Energy Team – Job SpecificationRole: Carbon ConsultantAssist clients with quantifying GHG emissions (with verifiable audit trail) in accordance with the National GHG Emission Reporting Regulations and the Methodological Guidelines for the Quantification of GHG Emission.Assist clients with carbon tax compliance (Carbon Tax Act 2019) and the associated tax-free allowances:Carbon budgets and future Mandatory Carbon BudgetsPollution Prevention Plans (future Mitigation Action Plans)Performance BenchmarksCarbon Offsets (assist/facilitate purchase and retire of credits)Understand the impact of policy changes and develop financial models to model the financial impacts.Assist clients with compliance requirements under the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanisms (EU, UK and potential future CBAM).
Assist with actual embedded emission calculations, ongoing policy developments and changes, and understanding and modeling the impacts of CBAM on covered sectors.Assist clients in quantifying Scope 3 emissions.Develop Carbon Credit Projects (feasibility and development) and assist in drafting and understanding Carbon Market Frameworks.Perform GHG verification (ISO 14064/5) for GHG reporting, CBAM, and carbon credit projects.Run carbon connect steering committee meetings for big clients, discussing all major policy developments and how this impacts our clients while working closely with EY Global Teams based in Europe and the United Kingdom as well as other jurisdictions.Who we are:At EY, we support you in achieving your unique potential both personally and professionally.
