Assistant Management Accountant

MCG Group, headquartered in the UK, is a leading group of specialist international recruitment businesses, operating across multiple sectors of industry. We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Assistant Management Accountant to join our finance team in Umhlanga, Durban. As an Assistant Management Accountant you will be managing various accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting senior accountants. Key Responsibilities:Process general ledger transactions.Manage credit card account transactions.Perform month-end and year-end closings to Trial Balance.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations.Prepare and manage VAT returns and related queries.Prepare monthly management accounts and variance analysis.Conduct in-depth analysis of costs.Provide financial analysis and support to management and operational areas.Assist with budget preparation and mid-year forecasting.Assist with audit schedules and queries for annual audits.Skills and Qualifications:Relevant Finance Qualification or in progress (CIMA advantageous).At least 2-3 years' experience working with Management AccountsProficiency in dealing with foreign currencies and understanding their impact on financial statementsStrong attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.So, what's in it for you:Generous renumeration package & incentivesLeading edge company EVP & cultureContinued professional developmentHybrid office environmentIf you are looking at broadening your career horizon as a management accountant, specifically with gaining international exposure & experience, this an opportunity not to be missed.
