Assistant Lodge Manager
for a prestigious 5-star lodge. This exciting opportunity is ideal for an experienced and driven individual with a passion for luxury hospitality and a strong background in lodge operations. Reporting directly to the Lodge Manager, the Assistant Lodge Manager will play a key role in managing day-to-day lodge operations, enhancing guest satisfaction, and leading a high-performing team.
Role Description:
As the Assistant Lodge Manager, you will support the Lodge Manager in overseeing all lodge operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining the lodge's service standards. You will take charge of the team in the absence of the Lodge Manager, managing daily operations, coordinating departments, training staff, and implementing quality improvement initiatives. Additionally, you will be responsible for stock management, cash handling, and ensuring preventive maintenance of lodge equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Satisfaction:
Measure and enhance overall guest satisfaction, including managing special requests.
Monitor Guest Feedback metrics on platforms such as Guest Revu and TripAdvisor.
Uphold and elevate the service standards provided by the lodge team.
Operations Management:
Assist the Lodge Manager in overseeing the day-to-day lodge service operations.
Supervise and manage lodge operations effectively in the absence of the Lodge Manager.
Coordinate departmental teams to optimize guest service delivery.
Team Leadership:
Conduct targeted training sessions to enhance both technical and soft skills of the lodge team.
Support the Lodge Manager in achieving quality improvement targets.
Lead the lodge team by example, ensuring high standards of service and professionalism.
Administrative & Financial Duties:
Develop comprehensive policies, processes, and standards governing lodge team activities.
Manage cash handling and minimize variances within acceptable limits.
Maintain effective stock management and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Maintenance & Upkeep:
Ensure the upkeep of lodge equipment through preventative maintenance and necessary repairs.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Degree/Diploma in Hotel Management or a related field.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in a 5-star establishment in a similar role (Assistant Lodge Manager, Duty Manager, or Guest Relations Manager).
Proven experience in lodge management and guest relations.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Good working knowledge of POS/PMS systems.
High attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Ability to manage operations and staff effectively under pressure.
Valid Driver's License is essential.
