Skukuza, Mpumalanga As the Assistant Head Guide, you will play a vital role in overseeing training and monitoring field guide functions in alignment with industry standards.
This includes conducting guest introductions, safety orientations, guided game drives, and interpretive bush walks.
You will also be responsible for tracking, delivering informative ecological lectures, managing equipment, and ensuring top-notch guest experiences and safety during various bush events.
Key Responsibilities Assist the Head Guide in overseeing and administering the Guides and Safari department.
Ensure efficient allocation of game drives, back-up drives, and stand-by duties.
Support in obtaining and maintaining valid licenses related to company firearms, ensuring safe weapon handling.
Assist with workshop functions and vehicle maintenance, attending meetings as necessary.
Help manage lodge social media platforms to enhance knowledge of wildlife and the operating area.
Aid in effective incident management in emergencies, including medical situations, fire, or flood.
Mentor and develop the guiding team to help them achieve and maintain relevant qualifications.
Collect and communicate guest information to enhance their safari experience.
Report guest complaints promptly to the management for resolution.

Qualifications and Skills NQF 4 Trails Guide certification.
ARH and Rifle Proficiency certifications.
First Aid Level 2 certification.
Valid Driver's License and Pr-DP.
Previous experience as a Senior Guide or Assistant Head Guide.
Knowledge of planning, budgeting, and departmental administration.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
