Our client is seeking an Assistant Group Accountant to perform daily accounting tasks that will support their financial team.Responsibilities:Recommend new or updated controls where warranted.Ensuring interdepartmental cohesiveness and efficiency.Performing monthly payroll imports for operations divisions.Monthly review and summary preparation of the balance sheet accounts and recons performed by divisional accountants.Preparation and reporting on the monthly balance sheet recons for corporate division.Maintain the asset registers for corporate division.Enquire, review and follow-up on the status of the group's asset registers.Assisting in the preparation of the annual audit.Assisting in the preparation and management of the annual BEE audit.Assisting in the preparation of and reporting on the monthly BEE efforts.Assisting in the preparation and reporting of the monthly finance report.Processing of monthly recurring journals for the group.Processing of duly authorised ad-hoc journals as required from time to time.Serving as the main backup for the Group financial accountant when absent from work.Maintaining an up-to-date record keeping and filing system.Assisting both the cashbook and creditors department in keeping up with deadlines as required.Analytical review of financial information.Internal auditing and writing of audit reports where audits was performed.Skills:Advanced MS Office proficiency.Integrative thinking.Advanced financial acumen.Performance and deadline driven.Customer focused.Planning and organising.Promotes collaboration and stakeholder engagement.Leads team to implement and manage change.Qualifications:Newly qualified CA (SA)/ITC exam completed.Completed articles.SAICA registered.Minimum 0-3 years experience post articles.
