Job Summary They are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant General Manager. The Assistant General Manager will play a key role in supporting the General Manager in overseeing all operational aspects of our mining projects in North West, SA. The successful candidate will work closely with the General Manager to ensure efficient and safe mining operations while maintaining high standards of productivity and compliance.
Duties & Responsibilities Assist the General Manager in developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve operational goals and targets.Oversee the day-to-day management of mining operations, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, environmental standards, and legal requirements.Provide leadership and guidance to supervisors and teams, fostering a positive work culture and prioritizing employee health and safety.Collaborate with various departments to optimize operational efficiency and productivity, including production, maintenance, logistics, and administration.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve targets and objectives.Coordinate and review mining plans, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.Develop and implement workforce training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, focusing on safety, productivity, and environmental sustainability.Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, providing input on operational costs and resource allocation.Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess mine operations, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with mining and safety standards.Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and legislative changes to drive innovation in mining practices and procedures.Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or relevant field.Mine Managers Certificate of CompetenceMinimum of 10 years of experience in the mining industry, with at least 6 years in a managerial or leadership role.Strong knowledge of mining operations and industry best practices, including safety regulations, environmental responsibilities, and mining techniques.Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate teams at all levels.Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans, while effectively managing budgets and resources.Proficient in the use of mining software and technology, with experience in mine planning and scheduling tools.Demonstrated ability to identify operational problems and develop innovative solutions.Sound understanding of financial and cost management principles within the mining industry.Knowledge of relevant mining legislation and regulatory requirements in South Africa.Benefits Salary: NegotiableFamily Leave (Maternity, Paternity)Paid Time Off (PTO) (if applicable)If you meet the above requirements and want to make a career-changing move, apply today by either filling in the online application form or emailing your CV to RPO Recruitment at ******
