Assistant General Manager

Life & Brand Portfolio seeks an experienced Assistant General Manager to assist in running our Tiger's Milk Umhlanga Restaurant. The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for assisting and supporting the General Manager, supervising, performance management, and effective delegation to various junior managers and staff to ensure an efficient and smooth-running restaurant.RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Ensure daily store operational requirements are metEnsure smooth running of front of house and back of houseSupervision of staffEnsure store hygiene, maintenance, health and safety requirements are metBeverage cost, food costs and stock control are within specified rangeBe on duty for busy shifts, weekends and all functionsEnsure effective communication between staff as well as managementEnsure reports are issued timeouslyQUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:2-3 years in a similar roleExperience in dealing with high volume, in a similar environment would be preferableStrong leadership abilityAbility to delegate and manage down effectivelyIntermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail and process drivenAbility to interpret statistical informationAbility to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of management, external customers, and third-party service providersSelf-motivated and deadline orientedAbility to multi-taskDiscretion and integrityProblem analysis and problem-solving skillsStress toleranceDecision-makingThis person will be for employment in a position of trust and honesty and entails the handling of cash or financesPLEASE NOTE THAT PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES FROM A PREVIOUSLY DISADVANTAGED BACKGROUND, IN TERMS OF OUR COMMITMENT TO EMPLOYMENT EQUITY.WE RESERVE THE RIGHT NOT TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT.SHOULD YOU NOT RECEIVE FEEDBACK WITHIN TWO WEEKS PLEASE ASSUME THAT YOUR APPLICATION HAS NOT BEEN SUCCESSFUL.Job Type: Full-timePay: R19000,00 per month
