SPAR Stone Square is recruiting for an Assistant Food Services Manager (based in Stellenbosch - Cape Town) to assist the Store Manager in the day-to-day management tasks of running the food service departments to the required store standards.
Able to run a shift and take responsibility of running the food service departments and overseeing the remaining store in the absence of the Store Manager.Manage the bakery staff, the kitchen staff and service counter staff.Ensure bakery and kitchen production to planned schedules – baked goods and daily meal offerings.Experience in Menu Planning and Costings will be required.Staff management and training – able to impart skills and empower staff.Oversee ingredient orders and manage the purchase budget.Manage weekly and year-end stock takes.Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety and obtain a minimum audit score of 95% across the food service departments.Implement proactive and corrective action based on food safety standards and audits.Shift and weekend work is required.Proven management experience and a disciplined and consistent staff management ability.5 years of previous experience in a catering service and/or an industrial/commercial kitchen is essential.Grade 12 is required.Culinary qualification is advantageous.Good client liaison and interpersonal skills.Strong admin and computer skills (Excel, Outlook, World Wide Web).Must be able to work independently.Own transport and a valid driver's license.Be a neat and well organized person.A passion for food and service.Ability to communicate in English and Afrikaans.
