We are a well-established and rapidly growing property development, management and investment holding, hospitality and leisure, and IT and telecommunications Group, situated in De Waterkant, Cape Town. We are seeking a highly ambitious, tech-savvy, pro-automation, and innovative person who recently qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA), Professional Accountants (SA), AGA (SA), or has a relevant degree and experience to join our vibrant team as an Assistant Financial Manager. · Capacity to work with clients and diverse groups of people · Ability to effectively communicate and liaise with management/customers/tenants/suppliers/subsidiary businesses and other stakeholders on a daily basis · Ensure invoices and statements are timeously produced and sent to customers · Managing and following up on outstanding customer balances · Recording supplier invoices received · Customer and supplier reconciliations · Preparing payment schedules and loading payments · Liaising with subsidiary businesses regarding information requirements, requests and queries relating to financial data and transactions required to perform duties · Ensuring statutory compliance and liaising with regulatory bodies such as SARS, CIPC, PPRA etc. · Preparing and assisting with the review of VAT reconciliations, returns and verifications · Balance-sheet and revenue reconciliations · Inter-company and related party balances and transactions reconciliations · Bank, credit card and petty cash reconciliations · Preparing for and assisting with annual audits and independent reviews · Maintaining accurate and complete fixed asset registers and investment property registers · Maintaining accurate and complete lease register, monitoring lease escalations and renewals · Liaising with financiers, banks, external shareholders etc. and providing financial information as and when required · Preparation of monthly owners statements for distribution · Assisting with and the preparation of monthly management accounts and quarterly board packs · Assisting with and the preparation of annual budgets · Assisting with and the preparation of cash flow forecasts · Quarterly development viability updates and calculation of work-in-progress · Monitoring cash levels and actual results against budgets · Assisting with Provisional Tax, Income Tax, IT14SDs and any ad-hoc requests from received from SARS · Assisting with and the preparation of Annual Financial Statements. · Assist the Group Financial Manager with accounting/financial related task and perform various ad-hoc and/or administrative functions as required Flexible working environment within a vibrant team. QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS · CIMA, SAIPA, SAICA (AGA (SA)) or similar accreditation / completed articles · Tech-savvy and excellent computer literacy (especially Microsoft Excel) · Strong knowledge of IFRS, IFRS for SMEs and the Companies Act of South Africa PREFERRED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS · Property development & management and / or exposure to the hospitality and IT and telecommunications industry · Experience working with Xero Accounting Software and Property Management Software · Experience working with payment gateways such as Payfast, Netcash etc. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS · BCom Accounting/Financial Accounting or similar degree PREFERRED EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS · 2 to 3 years post article experience · SAIPA or SAICA (AGA (SA)) accreditation advantageous · Post Graduate Degree or Diploma REQUIRED SKILLS · Fast learner · Strong inter-personal and excellent communications skills (verbal and written) · Organised and meticulous individual with the ability to multitask · Excellent team player and collaborator · Strong attention to details · Recommendations for the improvement and implementation of systems and processes · Ability to handle and work under pressure OTHER REQUIREMENTS · Own transport
