Assistant Financial Controller - Franschhoek

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Financial Controller to join our team.
Duties:

Assist in development and implementation of internal controls relative to accounting entities.
Coordinate information to external auditors for annual audit processes.
Maintain electronic files for proper audit documentation.
Ensure that all internal control procedures are strictly adhered to and communicate any perceived weaknesses to the Director, Financial Controller.
Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting.
Ensure all accounting practices comply with legal guidelines and established accounting principles.
Identify solutions to discrepancies in financial records.
Learn to use our company IT tools.
Prepare, reconcile, and monitor customer reconciliations.
Prepare, reconcile, and monitor diesel reconciliations.
Process bank reconciliation and petty cash.
Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations.
Support Financial Controller with Business Controllership Framework - ensure financial data integrity.
Monitor, supervise, and prepare month-end income statement and balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis.
Work with the financial team to create internal controls and policies.

Experience and Skills:

Background in the wine industry will be advantageous.
SARS Excise background will be advantageous.
Degree in Finance.
