Assistant Financial Controller - Franschhoek

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Financial Controller to join our team.
Duties:
Assist in development and implementation of internal controls relative to accounting entities
Assists in the coordination of information to external auditors for annual audit processes
Electronic file maintenance for proper audit documentation
Ensure that all internal control procedures are strictly adhered to and communicate any perceived weakness to the Director, Financial Controller
Ensure timeliness and accuracy
Ensuring all accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines and established accounting principles
Identifying solutions to discrepancies in financial records
Learn how to use our company IT tools
Prepare, reconcile and monitor customer reconciliations
Prepare, reconcile and monitor diesel reconciliations
Processing of bank reconciliation and petty cash
Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations
Support Financial Controller with Business Controllership Framework - ensure financial data integrity
To monitor, supervise and prepare month-end income statement and balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis
Working with the financial team to create internal controls and policies
Experience and Skills:
Background in the wine industry will be advantageous
SARS Excise background will be advantageous
Degree in Finance
