Requirements
Qualification in Financial Accounting or any related qualification would be beneficial
Minimum 3 – 5 years relevant experience as an accountant / bookkeeper within the hotel/Lodge environment Preferred
Knowledge and exposure in accounts receivable and payable - advantageous
Knowledge and exposure toWorking knowledge of PMS (Nebula/APEX)
Knowledge and exposure in reconciling and analyzing general and subsidiary ledger
Knowledge and exposure in debtors and creditors
Knowledge and understanding of reconciling stock valuation - advantageous
Knowledge of MS office package such as Word, Excel & PowerPoint, and finance systems such as Sage Pastel and Opera
Description
Submit monthly payroll information to General Manager for approval
Update Pastel with supplier invoices, Bank movement, Payments, Depreciation Journal, Pre-payments
Facilitate provisions, accruals, payroll
Assist with monthly forecast and cash flow
Assist with monthly balance sheet and supplier reconciliation
Monthly stock takes, upkeep of stock files on Pastel
Maintain asset register and depreciation files
Update daily revenue journal and account for in Pastel
Approve and check weekly revenue forecast before submitting to Head Office
Assist General Manager on all financial and operating issues
Assist with weekly cash flow and loading of approved payments
Assist in completing annual budgets
Submit all statutory returns VAT, UIF, PAYE, ROE and EMP501 information to SARS and other statutory bodies
Liaison with yearend Statutory audits
