Assistant Farm ManagerEagles Pride Hatchery, the largest independent supplier of day-old chicks to the commercial market, is looking for Assistant Farm Managers at our operations in the North West Province. Responsibilities will include managing production targets, quality, cost efficiencies, staff, and compliance with bio-security protocols.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and assist with all production-related activities ensuring consistent compliance with SOPs and production targets as set.Effective management of staff.Adhering to Health and Safety requirements and assisting with managing Bio-Security protocols.Optimize utilization of all equipment, buildings, and machinery in use at the Farm.Assist with managing the flow of production data.Ensuring the high standards of animal welfare, hygiene, and animal husbandry practices are maintained at all times.Desired Experience & QualificationGrade 12 plus a tertiary qualification, e.g., National Diploma in Agriculture will be a definite advantage.Knowledge of animal husbandry.At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar position will be advantageous.Good computer skills - Microsoft Office Applications - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Good planning and organizing skills.Decision-making and problem-solving skills.Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.Able to accept high levels of responsibility.Self-motivated, positive individual able to cope well under pressure.Able to work irregular hours, weekend duties, and public holidays.Package & RemunerationAt Eagles Pride Hatchery, we are committed to our Employment Equity Plan and we offer a competitive salary plus benefits which includes membership to a Pension Fund and Company Housing.
