Assistant Director: Strategic Planning and Coordination, Ref No POCS 07/2024DetailsClosing Date: 2025/01/27Reference Number: WCG241125-9Tracking Number: POCS 07/2024Job Title: Assistant Director: Strategic Planning and CoordinationDepartment: Police Oversight and Community SafetySalary Level: 9Enquiries: Ms N Gallant at (021) 483 6954Job Type: PermanentLocation: Cape Town, CBD, Western Cape, South AfricaJob Purpose: The Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety, Western Cape Government, has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to coordinate and support the facilitation of the departmental strategic planning and reporting processes, systems, and outputs.Minimum Requirements:An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification).A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience in a strategic planning, reporting, and coordination environment.A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.
NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.Key Performance Areas:Coordinate and facilitate the Departmental participation in developing strategic and operational planning processes.Coordinate and facilitate the Department's performance reporting processes.Coordinate and compile the Departmental Service Delivery Improvement Initiatives including DPSA and Public Service Commission compliance.Coordinate governance performance information and policy coordination in the Department.People Management.Knowledge and Skills:Knowledge of strategic management processes and government planning processes and cycles.Sound knowledge and understanding of departmental operations.Policies of the government of the day, with specific reference to the provincial growth and development strategy of the Western Cape.Global, regional, and local political, economic, and social affairs impacting on the provincial government of the Western Cape.Computer literacy in MS Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Strong conceptual and formulation skills.Strong leadership skills with specific reference to the ability to display thought leadership in complex applications.Team building and strong inter-personal skills.Excellent communication skills.Strong planning, organizing, and people management skills.Remuneration: R 444 036 per annum (Salary level 9)Notes: Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit copies of their documentation for verification purposes.
These candidates will be required to complete a practical assessment and attend interviews on a date and time as determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests.
