Assistant Director Speech Therapy and Audiology (Re-advertisement)Reference Number: refs/021879Directorate: Speech Therapy and AudiologyNumber of Posts: 1Package: R605 550.00 per annum (Plus benefits)Requirements:Appropriate qualification that allows registration with HPCSA in Speech Therapy, Audiology, or Speech Therapy and Audiology.Registration with HPCSA in Speech Therapy, Audiology, or Speech Therapy and Audiology.A minimum of 3 years' appropriate experience after registration with the HPCSA in Speech Therapy, Audiology, or Speech Therapy and Audiology, of which 5 years must be appropriate experience in Management.The following will be an added advantage: Understanding of the relevant Acts prescripts and legislation, relevant experience in Human Resources and financial management, ability to use Health information for planning and development in line with the vision and mission of the department of health, ability to work under pressure, lead a team, and collaborate with other hospitals when needed.Relevant experience in research and data analysis, a minimum of 10 years in a chief post working in an academic institution, 5 years of which should be as chief managing either the speech therapy unit (adult or paediatrics) and/or the audiology unit (adult or paediatric).Duties:Ensure the provision of an efficient and effective service to patients to achieve better health outcomes.Support provincial initiatives and projects as required.Organize, coordinate, and supervise the provision of general and specialized speech therapy and audiological services.Monitor student clinical training in accordance with the vision and mission statement of the Department of Health.Solve complex management and technical problems skillfully.Authorize and control all projects related to service delivery improvement.Promote harmonious teamwork among staff within the unit/department and institution.Ensure good ethical practices for staff, patients, and the community.Human Resources Management: Ensure service provision and training comply with National, Provincial, and Institutional policies.Financial Management: Ensure good financial management practices, monitor expenditure, and implement innovative methods to maximize service delivery.Operations and Strategic Management: Apply leadership and strategic management skills when planning, coordinating, and implementing protocols and guidelines.Notes:Applications should be submitted in PDF format to the E-Recruitment portal: http://professionaljobcenter.gpg.gov.za.
