Job Purpose The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to develop and actively promote the use of knowledge and information respiurces within the department. 

An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B Degree (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a knowledge management working environment. A valid code B (or higher) driving license. NB People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.
Recommendation None. 

Key Performance Areas Identify, implement and maintain knowledge and information services; Convert tacit and implicit knowledge into institutional knowledge; Publish and disseminate management information generated within the department; Manage the process of obtaining access to management and other information generated within the department; People management. 

Knowledge of the following: Public Service legislation, including POPI Act, PAIA, PAJA; Management and people management principles; Financial management; Records management systems; Electronic content management; Policies and prescripts related to records and knowledge management; Project management. Skills in the following: Written, verbal and liaison communication; Computer literacy; Planning and organising; Problem solving; Facilitation and presentation; Analytical; Operational planning and innovation. 
Remuneration R 444 036 per annum (Salary level 9)
Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.

Notes Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
