Assistant Cost Accountant

The above-mentioned vacancy exists in the Finance Dept. This position reports to the Cost Accountant. The individual will be required to ensure accurate valuation of all stock items, as well as compliance with internal policies and procedures and operations of a manufacturing plant in Springs. This position is graded as a Peromnes 10.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:Ensuring that monthly financial and costing information is reported accurately and timeously.Assisting in ensuring a fair reflection of the plant's expected profitability by preparing budget documentation timeously and accurately.Accurate valuation of work in progress, finished goods, and raw materials.Conducting financial analysis by updating bill of materials, finished goods, and new components on JDE.Recording stock movements across plants and locations on JDE.Conducting weekly stock verification on all stock locations.Assisting in ensuring the financial impact of high areas of spoilage is reported to the plant.Conducting alignment on plant spoilage vs financial spoilage.Reconciling raw materials daily.Assisting in ensuring that the actual vs budget departmental costs are reported to the departmental stakeholders on a weekly and monthly basis.Ensuring that overall scrap processed is invoiced accurately and that scrap procedures are adhered to.The ideal candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:National Diploma/Degree in AccountingMinimum 3 years of experience in a finance environment (same or similar position)Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on the development and analysis of cost standards.
