Thungela focuses on exporting its thermal coal portfolio mainly to the Indian, Asian, Southeast Asian, Middle East, and North African markets.Job DescriptionAs the Assistant Accountant, you will assist with administrative functions of the finance department relating to financial and performance reporting.More of your responsibilities will include:Accurate preparation of general accounting, payroll, cost and accrual journals and the reallocation of incorrect postings.Supporting the accurate preparations and submission of Minerals Council of SA and DMRE.Assisting the Accountant with month-end reporting, ensuring the cost completeness in line with requirements.Populating the Cost Performance Management template and supporting the process of cost reviews.Managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, understanding and delivering on their operational needs, and identifying and resolving issues timeously.Reconciling ledger balance sheet accounts, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all reconciliations.QualificationsDiploma/ Degree in Accounting or Financial discipline (NQF 6/7).Experience & KnowledgeMinimum of 3 years' experience in Finance environment.SAP experience is essential.Additional InformationProficient knowledge of SAP, Ramesys, and HFM.Emerging knowledge of data analysis and reporting techniques, processes, and tools.International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).Income tax act and VAT act.Who We AreWe're a company that promotes an environment that inspires innovation and where people have a shared sense of purpose.
