Assistant Accountant

Job Description As the Assistant Accountant you will assist with administrative functions of the finance department relating financial and performance reporting.
More of your responsibilities will include: Accurate preparation of general accounting, payroll, cost and accrual journals and the reallocation of incorrect postings Supporting the accurate preparations and submission of Minerals Council of SA and DMRE Assisting the Accountant with month-end reporting, ensuring the cost completeness in line with requirements Populating the Cost Performance Management template and supporting the process of cost reviews Managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, understand and deliver on their operational needs, and identify and resolve issues timeously Reconcile ledger balance sheet accounts, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all recons Qualifications Diploma/ Degree in Accounting or Financial discipline (NQF 6/7) Experience & Knowledge Minimum of 3 years' experience in Finance environment SAP experience is essential Additional Information Proficient knowledge of SAP, Ramesys and HFM Emerging knowledge of data analysis and reporting techniques, processes and tools International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Income tax act and VAT act Who We Are We're a company that promotes an environment that inspires innovation and where people have a shared sense of purpose.
