Our client is seeking and experienced finance person for the role of Assistant: Accountant & APDP Controller within their team.
Requirements: Degree in Accounting and / or Finance3 years related work experience in Finance DepartmentProficient with MS Excel, Word, and SAPDisplay knowledge of accounting principles, and apply these to jobPosses a strong knowledge of system procedures relating to general ledger andpayables processing and fixed asset systemsDisplay attention to detailTeam –orientation with good verbal and written communication skills and an ability to build relationships effectivelyProven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast paced environmentMotivated self starter and able to work independently, and to manage time effectively About the job:
Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recordation of fixed assets.Recommend to management any updates to accounting policies relating to fixed assets.Record fixed assets acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting systemAssign tag numbers to fixed assetsTrack the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completedReconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary–level account in the general ledgerCalculate all depreciation for all fixed assetsReview and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.Calculate asset retirement obligations for those fixed assets to which AROs are applicableInvestigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets and make recommendations to managementConduct periodic physical inventory counts for fixed assetsPrepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their
