Our client, one of the largest IPPs in Africa, is looking for an Asset Financial Modeller whose expertise will assist them in continuing to expand and transform the African power sector.
Your primary objective would be to prepare, develop, and support financial models for our client's operating assets, assets currently under construction, and overall asset modelling adjustments. These include balance sheets, the performance of assets, changes in construction timelines, and business valuations and returns.

Education Requirements
Bachelor of science in degree in finance, engineering, or maths background
Experience Requirements
5+ years experience in building and analysing financial models for project finance
Experience in the power industry OR project finance OR business valuation
Experience in the renewable energy industry
Responsibilities
Develop, revise, and oversee intricate project finance-based asset models for current operational assets and those in progress
Modify models to account for variables such as actual balance sheet figures, asset performance, alterations in construction schedules, and business valuation
Collaborate on crafting a comprehensive, company-wide unified model for operational assets, ensuring it aligns with established long-term incentive plans
Guide the transition of project finance investment case models into operational models post-construction
Provide guidance and instruction to local asset teams on managing their respective models
Assist in aligning yearly business plan models with extended valuation models for individual assets
Interface with lenders regarding issues such as disbursement requests, waivers, distributions, and reporting
Perform evaluations on the current asset portfolio to inform investment decisions
Contribute insights to Investment Committee and Board Papers
Assist in conducting the annual corporate valuation process
Offer specialised analytical assistance, including conducting research on market trends and competitors
Skills
Proficient in financial modelling, including advanced Excel skills, VBA, and adherence to financial modelling best practices
Demonstrates commercial awareness and sharp business acumen
Possesses strong communication skills, excels in team collaboration, and adept at building relationships
Shows meticulous attention to detail in tasks
