Asset Controller (Corporate Finance Division)

Requirements: Matric Grade 12, Bachelors Degree in Asset management, logistics, business administration, supply chain management, accounting or a related field. (Please attach all qualifications)3-5 years proven experience in a large company asset management or a similar role3-5 years proven experience in strong asset management knowledge3-5 years experience in licensing proceduresStrong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices including depreciation an impairments of assetsStrong claims management knowledgeKnowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair proceduresArticulate and good communication skillsStrong negotiation and problem-solving skillsExcellent analytical and decision-making skillsPeople orientated and a good team playerAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesProactive and self-motivatedAbility to work autonomouslyService Delivery orientatedOversee all 3rd Party Insurance claimsProficiency in fleet management (fuel and tracking) software and other relevant technologyFamiliarity with road and traffic regulationsProficiency on MS Office and knowledge of ACCPAC accounting ERP system will be an advantage Job Functions: Oversee the entire assets register, including vehicles, IT equipment, plant and machinery and furniture, fittings and signageCreate a full register of all vehicles and registration documentationMonitor and pay all fines and then allocate charge via HR/Payroll to driverEnsure change of ownership of sold vehiclesEnsure vehicles have updated licensesEnsure all maintenance costs are approved and monitored via finance departmentEnsure all road vehicles are fitted with a tracker-type system which is activeMonitor the tracker system for movements out of defined areas and over the set speedContinue to maintain a Fixed Asset Register for 4R including depreciation, disposal and cost allocationEnsure CAPEX is completed and updated, as per budget and cost control protocolsIdentify, source and place orders of new vehicles as needed, ensuring they meet company requirements and standardsMonitor costs for motor vehicles maintenance and fuel costs, as per maintenance repairs protocolsMonitor fuel management system to ensure compliance and identify fraudulent use of fleet vehicles, as per compliance protocolsEnsure that all necessary documentation is completed for insurance claims as per insurance guidelinesFollow up on outstanding insurance claimsAssist and with adhoc responsibilities in line with operational requirements.NB.
