About the role The main role of the Assembly Operator is to assemble electrical and electronic products and associated subassemblies and accessories.
Tasks should be performed in accordance to assembly instructions and guidelines which will be in the form of written instructions, approved master samples and/ or thorough in-person training.
It is their responsibility to ensure that the products that they assemble and test are built accurately, function correctly and are assembled within the standard times.
Working together with the Production Manager and/ or team leader, the Assembly Operators ensure that products are manufactured to the pre-determined quality standards and pass the relevant product specifications.
Core duties, responsibilities and accountabilities Maintaining discipline and complying to company policies and guidelines at all times Clearly understand their job and expectations and if anything is unclear ask for assistance or further training Ensures that production orders issued to them are completed within the scheduled time Assisting in the identification and elimination of production waste within processes and materials.
Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of continuous improvement programs in line with industry best practices and LEAN methodologies.
Ensuring that stipulated health and safety regulations are followed at all times Ensuring that all pre-determined quality requirements and checks are met at all times Reporting of any breakdown of production equipment to the Production Manager immediately when noted Any reasonable instruction given by senior management Key skills, competencies and personal attributes Matric /NQF4 or equivalent - minimum At least 1 year of working experience in a manufacturing environment producing, assembling and testing Neat and presentable Punctual Detailed orientated and efficient Good communication and literacy skills.
