About the role Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for assembling metal or plastic products, partially or completely on the production floor. The packing of allocated products as per SOP. The production assistant will support the production of quality products to meet the production schedule. This includes the cleaning and preparation of equipment, sanitization of work area, and restocking of inventory necessary to support the production schedule. The production assistants also have responsibilities of completing associated documentation. Responsibilities include line clearance, setup and operation of packaging equipment, integrity, preparation of processing equipment, and coordinating task and schedules within the group and across functional lines. Performs all assembly operations as part of an assembly team. Observe the operations of the assembler team to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions. Perform minor machine or tool maintenance. Ensure that a good quality product is being produced before it is packaged. Place correct quantity of item in poly bag, box or finished container. Assist with forming, labeling and sealing boxes or finished container. Ensure that product is labeled with the correct date, shift and lot if necessary. Notify the Production Supervisor or Quality Control Inspector when there is a problem with quality. About you: National Senior Certificate / Matric / Grade 12 Certificate (Completed). Working experience within a Production Environment. Effective planning and organisational skills. Ability to receive and follow instructions/processes precisely. High attention to detail. A good command of the English language (Verbal communication, and written communication). Positive Attitude (Motivation, confidence and development orientation). Ability to read written instructions.
