Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Artisan Electrician to be placed in Venetia. The successful candidate will report to the Foreman Engineering. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to: Cost containment, high mean time to failure after repairsCompetent, motivated, disciplined and positive teamEffective self and team supervision in alignment with MRC values and leadership initiativesEngineering equipment is repaired according to agreed standards, specifications and schedulesElectrical equipment installations are constructed and maintained according to agreed standards, procedures and specificationsEffective self-management and alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiativesSuitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills: Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalentSection 26 Electrical Trade Certificate / MIETTB (Mining Industry Engineering Trades Training Board) Trade Certificate through a registered bodyContract of Apprenticeship signed off by employer and Department of ManpowerFlame Proof and Gas Testing Certificates (Advantageous)Valid First Aid Certificate (Essential, if not available, must obtain at on-boarding)Valid Code EB driver's licenseGood English written and verbal communication skillsSuitable candidates must have the following work experience: 5 years or more mining industry experience (underground/Construction)5 years of trade experience as an ElectricianAbility to read and interpret drawingsAbility to do fault-finding from drawingsAbility to supervise team and apprenticesAll appointments will be done in line with our employment equity strategy.
