Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Artisan Electrician to be placed in Venetia. The successful candidate will report to the Foreman Engineering.The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to: Cost containment, high mean time to failure after repairs Competent, motivated, disciplined and positive team Effective self and team supervision in alignment with MRC values and leadership initiatives Engineering equipment is repaired according to agreed standards, specifications and schedules Electrical equipment installations are constructed and maintained according to agreed standards, procedures and specifications Effective self-management and alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiatives Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills: Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalentSection 26 Electrical Trade Certificate / MIETTB (Mining Industry Engineering Trades Training Board) Trade Certificate through a registered body.Contract of Apprenticeship signed off by employer and Department of ManpowerFlame Proof and Gas Testing Certificates (Advantageous)Valid First Aid Certificate (Essential, if not available, must obtain at on-boarding)Valid Code EB driver's licenseGood English written and verbal communication skills Suitable candidates must have the following work experience: 5 year or more mining industry experience (underground/Construction)5 years of trade experience as an ElectricianAbility to read and interpret drawingsAbility to do fault-finding from drawingsAbility to supervise team and apprentices All appointments will be done in line with our employment equity strategy.
