Overall Purpose of the Role: As Area Sales Manager you would be responsible for driving the growth of TymeBank's Business Cash Advance to small businesses across Gauteng's townships.
TymeBank enables SMEs to access financing through its market leading funding solutions.
We have a direct brand distribution channel with extremely skilled relationship managers to give SMEs personalized service.
This role forms part of the relationship manager team.
It is a management role that focuses on building a team that will drive the township distribution.
The successful candidate will build and lead a high-performing sales team while also engaging in direct sales activities to meet and exceed growth targets.
You will be required to develop and drive the team to execute sales strategies, build strong relationships within key sectors, and support small businesses with our funding solution.
Key Responsibilities: • Develop and implement sales plans to achieve budgeted advances / disbursements • Build and structure a team from the ground up by recruiting, training, and leading members to achieve high performance and deliver on strategic goals.
• Take a hands-on approach by actively participating in day-to-day tasks alongside the team • Ensure all team inputs and activities are focused on achievement of sales targets and KPI's.
• Identify and acquire new clients within key market segments, including FMCG, taverns, retail, beauty and hair salons etc • Use various prospecting techniques (e.g., cold calling, networking, social media) to generate and nurture leads • Enable and support the team to compile and submit deals with relevant and required documentation in line with expectations • Support and execute localised marketing initiatives to increase brand visibility and product awareness • Track and report on sales performance, activities, and outcomes, providing insights to management • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all client interactions and sales progress in the CRM system • Provide daily/weekly/monthly reports as needed to senior management on acquisition effort results • Provide exceptional service to clients, addressing concerns and resolving issues to maintain high satisfaction levels for existing clients • Ensure timely collections from clients, managing accounts receivable to support the financial health of the business.
• Deep understanding of B2B challenges and opportunities within townships and informal markets.
• Ensure comprehensive coverage of the assigned area, leveraging both direct sales and team-led efforts.
• Feedback with regards to competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, when engagement with potential clients.
About you: • 5 years + Sales experience • Matric/ Grade 12 (Degree added advantage) • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrate ability to build, manage, and nurture long-term B2B relationships • Experience in a B2B role in township businesses or informal markets • Added advantage: Experience in sectors like FMCG, VAS, Liquor or similar industries focusing on township distribution Key Behavioral Attributes • A hands-on approach • Positive, problem-solving attitude.
